Hey Guys! It's me again! last night was my second OUT OF FOUR DAYS off but I was called to do overtime not knowing that I was only doing A380, my dream (very soon to be nightmare) aircraft, for 12 loooooooooong sleepless hours.
Alright, here's the priority work, we had to check the HF1 & HF2 coz there is datalink problem.. means from software to hardware, visual nspections, bonding tests, so fort and so on.. Mostly, the jobs done in this fleet are Engineering Orders, made by some FLAT
PEOPLE seating in our engineering office who I think don't know what an AIRCRAFT REALLY LOOKS LIKE?
Hahahahah! Ok. let's start with the CB's. Oh it's sooo high tech that u can open/close (like simulation) the CB's thru its computer called OMB, a built in laptop on the RH of the jumpseat or simply the counterpart of MAT in Boeings.
That's pretty cool. Unlike the typical airbus that the HF couplers are located on the trim tank compartment (FYI AIRFRAME GUYS:that's why there's stairs there), this Airbus 380 features a new generation design, more complicated that means more work for us! So, it is located on the very aft galley of the upper floor where u have to removed the whole heavy ceiling light panel and three more fillers which are not the easy hook type but screw latches that are soooooooooooo hard to remove and install coz its hidden in its built in rubber plus it really damages the painting, worse destroys the soft panel. If u are not quite tall like me, u have to remove at least a rod so u can insert yourself all the way to the ceiling.
Oh, that is only the Coupler I am talking about. Now, lets go to the antenna. Same location, on the rudder. But since it's the biggest ever, u r right guys... about 120 SCREWS to be opened before we finally see the flourescent lamp-like type of antenna. Ouch! surely the mechanic assigned last night was really really screwed!!!!! Poor him..
Overall the jobs are well done, thanks to Scottish Billy Bob, the only certifying engineer for the Big Bird so far and couple of French Tech. Representatives, a German airbus REI guy and the airframe Brit.
Well.. if i tell u u the whole story of my job last night, i might fall to sleep
. So better shut down now and let your poor avionics mechanic sleep for a while. I'm soooooo tired.
OH BY THE WAY, LAST NIGHT WAS 60% HUMIDITY
AND 40++ TEMPERATURE.
yAH! yAH! I NEED YOUR GOOD LUCKS......

cIAO!
